Trying To Save Money Anyway I Can
OK so I think I had mentioned that I wanted to try to do my own nails. Well while I waited for some more supplies that I needed, I went ahead and purchased the All Season Quick Dip Powder System, it cost $15.99 at Sally Beauty, a wonderful website, and even better store go stop in and do a shop. So as I said I tried this out today. I have some pro's and con's with this.
Pro's: It's fast, easy, you can do it yourself, inexpensive
Con's: If not done properly it will not look like it was professionally done, if you get a bad batch your screwed Ok so it cost $15.99 it's not too bad, when you get your nails done for the first time in a salon, it usually will run you about $40.00 for a full set, and then you need to return every 2-3 weeks (depending on how fast your nails grow) for fills. This quick dip system, well it's not so bad, it is pretty fast, it looks horrible when you are first going through it, but one you have done some filing down, it has potential to look really nice. When I did it, I ran into some problems, of course because I never done my own nails before I was bound to run into problems. Like how do I hold my own finger so the tip can adhere to my nail, that is one of the problems I personally had, that I will have to work on. But let me say I was highly disappointed when I went to try to use the brush on glue, it came out gummy as hell.
I got so pissed off because I am sitting here with these tips on my nails, and brush on glue that is gummy, I almost brushed it on my finger, but luckily I had bought another kit when I went out over the weekend, so I went to get that brush on glue and that was liquid the way it should be. You better believe I am going to email the website and tell them to please replace my brush on glue because it went bad, and was gummy. I'm still mad about that.
Finally reached the stage of filing, and as you can see in this photo, the stuff really clumps, and I think that clumpness is why, when I look at the finished product, is why there seems to be air bubbles, lol it almost looks like and intentional design but it's not!
But like I had mentioned doing some filing, and it'll all be good. The only problems I had was keeping the tip on, because I just have to figure out what works for me, when I am doing it to myself, and having a good product to work with. I don't believe I will buy this product again, I wanted to experiment and I did, I got that out of the way, but from here on it. I think I will just do it the longer way, and it's something I have wanted to do for a long time, and now I am.
I have to be honest, for my very first time, it didn't come out half bad. On the nails it looks like I have glitter, but I don't it's the air bubbles that formed when I was doing the dipping, opposed to using a brush when doing french acrylic tips. So it was fun, and experiment, but I will be doing it the longer way, which will come out much better, and I am looking forward to that. But I need to practice first, once I got some practice, I will do a review of my first time doing acrylics the long with using a brush. Yay so excited!
