A New Set & So Very Pleased With My Nails

Ok so in the past I have talked about doing my own nails, and I have. I first experienced with the less expensive products, which I failed at, you can tell if you look back at my blog, and view the pictures of the train wreck. So I put off doing them, instead I stocked up on supplies, but now that I have done that. I wanted to give it another go, which I did on my own nails, since I had such a hard time getting the tip to adhere to the fake plastic finger *sigh* so aggravating that was.

So I finally did it, did my own nails with a more expensive product but I was pleased with the results, I have to say that it did not by any means come out like I wanted it to, and I filmed myself doing it, so that I can go back and see what I did wrong. I caught myself doing things, that I told myself I wouldn't do. Don't you hate when you do that? I'm glad I decided to film it. I have filmed a few hauls, and posted on YouTube, where I am keeping track of my progress, and I do post pictures here from time to time. I found a nice little community of girls that love to do what I do, and all pretty much support each other.

After I finished my set, I was displeased because I could see the tip, and that is suppose to disappear once I put more acrylic on the nail, as seen in the photo below. So when I finished it, I was so bummed out =\ so disappointed in myself, but with the support of the girls on YouTube it did make me feel better, although I was to embarrassed to show my nails without polish, and the video I do post was with nail polish on.

You see what I mean? I was down about that, I felt like such a failure, especially after the first try that was a horrible train wreck. But after posting my video, and the girls telling me, it's a good job for first time, I was happier with myself. I am so hard on myself about things sometimes. Even William tried to cheer me up, but I know he's not only my boyfriend and best friend, and his support means more to me than anything. I'm thankful for him, and how much he supports what I do. So now I'll post a picture of my nails after they were polished, and I still had to clean up the sides of a bit of excess polish, but loved the color.

Color is: Teal or No Teal by Wet n' Wild Fast Dry

And there we go, looking at my polished nails closely, even with polish, I seen imperfections. I got some bubbles and I think it's because I polished them on a day it was humid in the room, 'I think', I don't know, the color is beautiful though I have to say. Persistence Pays Off, Believe It!

Yes!! Finally it's here. SUMMER! I'm super happy, that means no more rain? I hope. The weather has been wacky for ages, even when I lived in California, it was wacky, so I really don't know what to expect. It's 3:45pm EST and the temperature at the moment is 94 degrees, and yes I can feel the humidity. I've been indoors, so I don't feel it as much as others. I really hope William is keeping cool. I wish there was a way to guarantee that but alas there isn't. I know they have A/C at his job, so hopefully it's on and keeping him cool.

So what's been going on with me. Well I have been watching a heck of a lot of YouTube videos, in hopes of learning more tricks of the trade. I recently bought some Primer from and Ebay seller, and unfortunately I wasn't at all happy with the product, it was way too thick, appeared to be more of a top coat, maybe even for gel nails. I am not 100% sure because I have never done gel nails but hopefully in the future I will.

Anyway, I emailed the seller told them the problem, they said 'oh we get our stuff inspected before it goes out' YEAH RIGHT you do. I find it rather impossible to inspect every single bottle of stuff that goes out, I'm sorry I don't buy that. Believe me they sell stuff at great prices, but everyone makes a mistake now and than, even I do. Ok so they offered me $2 refund, I'm like thinking to myself "Heck no, I don't even know what this product is". What good is it going to do for me? So I said, this is not what I asked for, it's clear that there had been a mistake or a bad batch. Ok so emails went back and forth about 3 or 4 times. I finally got fed up, made a quick video, and emailed them back the link so they can see for themselves, because of course they naturally thought I was lying, which I was not! Two days later I get an email stating I will be getting a full refund. So you see, persistence paid off for me!!

Now to find more Primer at a reasonable price. I got distracted and forgot to post this. Lol. Ok With that said that is all for me, have a wicked 'cool' day :)

I love to get into a car and it smells divine. Like I want to actually reside there, but then there are those cars that you could swear something died in it, and mounds of trash in the back. No names are being included in this hehe. I do love getting into my boyfriends truck, it smells nice, even though he's a smoker. Now when I'm in the car and smoking starts I guess that's another story. I do smoke on a occasion, but not as a regular habit, perhaps a cigarette a day, if that. Yes I know it's not a good habit, and it's nasty and all that. But that is not why I'm writing this is it? That is for another day :)

So back to how cars smell. My favorite smell is when you get into a brand new car! That is probably the ultimate fantastic feeling, it gives you a sense of accomplishment doesn't it? I wouldn't know, I have yet to drive a new car off the lot. One day, but today is not it. So I read an article in Readers Digest, a great place to find fantastic tips by the way. In interesting ways to freshen your car. Read on to know more!

Sprinkle Oil
Shake a few drops of lemon or eucalyptus essential oil onto car mats for naturally sweet scent that will last a few weeks.

Get a Whiff of Wax
Drop a potpourri wax tart, commonly made by candle companies -- into a cup holder, and take your favorite scent with you wherever you go!

Sniff Salts
Pour fragrant bath salts into a loose-leaf tea strainer, and place it in the glove compartment for a fast refresher every time you pull out a map.

Dry and Drive
Lay fresh herbs, such as basil, on a piece of newspaper in the back seat and leave the windows rolled up to dry the leaves and banish bad odors.

Aren't those just awesome tips. I love them. I love the candle one, oh gosh yes I do! I love them all, and will continue to use them. You should give it a go.
