Doomsday Preppers - Should You Be Worried Too?

The other day, we didn't have much to watch on TV, so we decided to browse ONdemand (absolutely love this, we're able to catch up with shows we may have missed) and see what shows are out there that we never seen. So one night we were looking through the networks, and stumbled on a TV show called Doomsday Preppers on the National Geographic channel. Who are they? What are they all about. Well long before we stumbled on this TV show, we had stumbled on a few others withe similar topics. I have to say, I didn't really pay much attention, although it did spark an interest in both our minds. We got really curious.

As time passed, and we kept seeing more and more. So naturally we would watch this stuff. I don't know for sure if anything will happen, there are people that have their predictions, and so forth. Does it worry me, sure it does. Why wouldn't it. Hey I would want to be one of the ones that survive. I don't know if I would go to the lengths of some of these people, although on their defense I have to say it is a TV show, and it's all entertainment right? Yeah? Probably? Could be. Watch this video of one prepper, and what he has done to help himself get prepared.

I personally feel, if this was on the level, any truth to it, why in heavens would they show their faces on TV, the one place that thousands of people can see them, identify them? Does that even make sense?

If I was a true doomsday prepper, I would NOT be telling anyone about what I am doing. I wouldn't be that stupid to put a big fat red target on my ass or my boyfriends for that matter. It would be something kept between myself and those few I decide to tell. I can just see our home being raided by people that are hungry, because we were foolish enough to go on TV and talk about it.

So you see, everything (almost everything) we see on TV about this, is for entertainment purposes. What else would it be? Could it be someone warning us? Giving us some information to ponder? That is really up to you. Now there are people that are worried about the economy, and go to lengths to store extra food for themselves in the event that there was an economic collapse and the store shelves emptying out in a matter of hours. Would this really happen? Anything is possible. Would you want to be prepared? I'm still curious, and I'll probably continue watching the shows, and who knows, maybe I'll start prepping myself.

Stranger Danger Saves A Life

I'm rather disappointed, we had sweet little flurries coming down all day, well until about 1 or 2pm, I was hoping it would come down more than that. I know there are other towns in New England that got a lot more than cute 'little' flurries, I looked forward to the snow.

Growing up in California, I didn't see much snow, unless I went up to Big Bear Mountain sky resort, and that was like never lol. I moved up to the high desert for awhile, and we got snow there, so that was pretty exciting. When I finally moved to Massachusetts, I got the opportunity to experience true snow days! I absolutely loved it! I looked forward to this winter ever since I moved here. We have yet to see another good drop of snow *wishes*. I guess we will see what the rest of this winter has in store for us.

I was watching the news earlier this week, and I seen that video about that 7 year old little girl from Georgia, out shopping with her mother at a Walmart. She was literally almost abducted, during the day, in a busy place like Walmart. I cannot believe the balls that people have these days to do such horrendous things. The little girl was a fighter, and good for her, she managed to get away, and it was all caught on surveillance! I can only imagine the horror she felt. After the guy let her go, and ran off, the little girl stood there, hesitated, and then ran up an isle, I think she may have seen him coming back. Thank you good Lord for helping this girl. Apparently the little girl recalled her 'Stranger Danger Training', that may have very well saved her life. All parents should teach their child that same training. I'm sure everyone must of heard about this by now, but if not here is the video!

Wow hey? That little girl is one brave one child, and did the right thing. Her training truly saved her. Well there you go, you cannot be to careful, day or night, it really doesn't matter. And we as fellow shoppers or whatever the situation could be, don't shrug your shoulder thinking 'oh it's just a little girl giving her daddy or mommy a hard time' because it could very well be more than it is, so we all should pay a little bit of attention to our surroundings. Don't be afraid to step in, I'd rather be wrong and yelled at, than think I could of saved someone's life.

February Is Zooming By

Gosh I can't believe how fast everything goes. It was only Christmas, and then Super Bowl came, unfortuntately my beloved Patriots didn't pull it off! But I am still a big fan, and always will be!

I_hate_valentines_day
So we have Valentine's Day coming up soon, and this is the time, the 'I hate Valentine's Day' blog posts go out. Really? How can you hate it? Well I suppose if you were dumped or had a really bad break up, I can see why you wouldn't be looking forward to that day.

Even though there were many years I did't have that special someone, I didn't hate that day, I just envied those that were lucky enough to have someone they loved with them. Oh so envious!

Anyway, I hope that people can embarce the love in the air and not be afraid to love, even though love bit them in the ass hehe. Sorry. I think they should look to those that do love them, that are still there for them, like friends and family. And if you happen to be one of those unfortunately souls, that doesn't even have that, well I would like to extend a hand out to you, and be your friend :)

Right, well I have my gift for William waiting, although it will arrive after Valentine's Day, so I need to get on the ball and get him a few other little things, which I really need to do today, because I am running out of time! Yikes! On that note, I best go now. Happy {early} Valentine's Day!
