A Lot Of Great Magazines, With Great Articles

I have subscribed to a few great magazines, that have some really great articles, and I so want to share some of them with my visitors. The problem is, I'm not too sure what the copyrights are on that kind of thing. I would probably want to share exactly what they talk about because it's useful information. If I read it, I'd be interested in them, and I feel my visitors would too. So with that said, how do I know when it's okay to copy what's in an article? Should I write it in my own words? What if my words aren't good enough, and the way they are putting it is better? Can I still do it?

Those are some of the questions I have asked myself about some of the articles I've read. Some have steps, and of course I want to keep them in my blog if I am to give the right kind of information to my visitors. Should I contact the magazine, and ask permission first, maybe saying something along the lines of, I'm interested in posting some of the articles in said magazine to my blog online, and wanted permission. Would that give me permission to do which ever ones I wanted, or do I have to do it for each article? I think it helps spread the word for them as well, because of course at the end of each post the source will be posted as well.

So month after month comes by, I want to share stuff, and I can't because I'm worried about what can happen if I'm not 'following the rules'. Does anyone have any idea, suggestions, opinions, anything? Well hopefully someone will leave a nice comment with some info, for now, I will just enjoy the articles and wait for awhile. I know that if someone posts an article online you can share it with a social network site like Twitter, Tumblr, Digg, there are so many, but what about articles in magazines! I'm experiencing copyright confusion! I'm going to have to do something about that, because it's one of those nagging things in your mind that just keeps coming up over and over.

This is a pretty interesting video I came across. Even though this video seems to relate more to teachers, than bloggers, I would think the concept is very similar? Right?

I also realise that most magazines now have online versions, and I have yet to really explore those, as I don't have as much time right now, and would like to finish things I have already started lol. I wonder though, if those versions, have everything the physical magazine do? I would expect that you would need to subscribe to the online magazine, for use say on your tablet. And all other content on the website is for anyone without a subscription to be able to browse through, basically free articles to read. But I still have those heckling questions on my mind. The only cure would be to do further research, email a few of the magazines, and see what they have to say. Once I do, I'll do an update on this post :)

How Can I Use My Time More Wisely?

OK it's all my fault!! I procrastinate way too much! I leave things until the last minute, I've done it dozens of times. I'm sure there are a lot of people that do that as well. But I do it to myself. I get some overwhelmed with things to do, that I forget about the deadline to some and then I feel like I'm running around like a chicken without a head! I really need to prioritise and use my time wisely or this will continue to happen.

Make lists perhaps? That could be a solution. If I set a list of things to do for certain days, I can achieve more.

For instance, today I need to move 2 of my websites to new servers. I have done a lot of the backing up of databases, so I have that part covered. It's the content that I'm trying to move, and my old host is being a pain in the a$$ and it's really annoying me. So while I go in between that, and setting up my community on BlogFrog, then going to try to figure out how to get my posts to go from my website directory to facebook page, to a bunch of other little things.

This is about the time I am running around like a chicken without a head!

So with trying to cover each of those things simultaneously, in the end, I'm probably not going to achieve as much as I'd like. I need to stick to one thing, finish it, and then move on. So why don't I do it?? Why do I keep trying to cover 4 things at once? When will I learn my lesson? As I'm typing this, I just popped open another tab to go to my domain registrar to have my domain point to the new hosting. I know I need to do that, and that will be quick to do. But you see, I just keep adding things.

If you have any suggestions as to the best way to handle my tasks, I am all ears, or eyes in this case hehe. OK I better get back to things.

Happy Leap Year Day!

>Now how often do we get to say that? Every 4 years! Four years ago, I didn't blog on Leap Day, I'm going to make a point that I do, so this is my very first Leap Year day I post on, yay! I'm a member of GetGlue, it's a fun social network website, that I find myself drawn to not only online but on my phone or iPod, I admit it, it does get a little addicting but I can't help it. I enjoy the website so much that I made a fan listing for it, if you are a fan please join, follow this link *clickity*. Anyway, today GetGlue gave all its members (permitting they check into said topic) a Leap Year Day sticker, although it's only an image online, they actually send you it in real life, I think that's why it's attracting so many people, especially collectors of stickers. I wouldn't of said I was a collector of stickers, but now I am, at least of GetGlue stickers. Anyway isn't it cute?

I couldn't resist but to write a quick little blog post about Leap Day, I find it odd to just say 'Leap Day', in my mind I want to say 'Leap Year Day', all the time lol. I was watching the Today show, and there were people there that had a birthday fall on Leap day, wow hey? I guess when it's not Leap Year, they fall back on the 28th? That must be so odd, but at the same time make you feel special if that makes sense?! I mean how many people can say they have a birthday that only exists every 4 years? Not many I don't think. So Happy Birthday to all those that do have a birthday today!
