April Showers In June? Come On, Really?

You know I love April, and May, and I can deal with the showers that come with those months, but June and it's raining? Why? The world is going to end soon I'm telling you!! Or this year the weather is just out of wack! Maybe both lol. I had plans to go out this weekend, but they have been cancelled with the way the weather is, so I put myself to use in the house and rearranged the room, moved this out and this in, that type of deal. I'm happy with it, I still have a few things that need to find a new home. And they shall!

Last night I worked on practicing the 'nail' thing, and I'm getting there, it wasn't on my own finger. I figured out a way to make that silly tip stick to the artificial finger, it was being so stubborn. And I hate wasting stuff like glue :P Right so, one of the ladies on YouTube, said to try the actual acrylic to adhere the tip to the artificial finger. I'm fine with that this time, but I see my self spending more money in the long run on acrylic powder, than I would on glue, and glue is a lot cheaper too!

Does anyone, know a better way to do this, please be kind, use my contact form, if you don't want to leave a comment, it would be very much appreciated.

So I have some pictures to share, to see my progress. I did forget to take a picture of before I actually did any filing, so this is after I did the filing. It was 'ok' for my 1st time on an artificial finger :) For my first time, it looks okay? By means it's not professional level what so ever. It looks bad, but I'm proud because it came out better than my first one I did on my own finger ant I had to immediately afterwards remove!

I know I have a long way to go, and I may even just go to and take a nail tech course, but for now, I am having fun with this, trying to learn on my own. I looked into a school the other day, and wow it's was around 2k and I thought hmm I will do this first, maybe later I may. So yeah I wanted to share that. I think i will go now, and have a cup of tea, and just do some more organising. Hope you all have a good weekend.

If At First You Don't Succeed ... Well You Know The Rest!?

I have mentioned in the past that I am teaching myself to do nails, and even though it looks easy on video, it really isn't. First is gluing the tip on to the nail, you can leave air pockets, and then that can cause some kind of infection, so you have to be careful with that, then getting down the amount of acrylic liquid and acrylic powder turned out to be difficult for me last night. I had initially wanted and still do, to practice on these plastic fingers that you can buy, it's much better than doing it on your self, and if something goes wrong, having to soak your fingers in pure acetone to remove the nail, just to turn around and try again. Sounds reasonable doesn't it?

Ok so that was my first nail I did. I was very disappointed, I started to think why did this happen? Was it the powder? the acrylic? Or maybe it was how much I was picking up, so that is what I concluded. I did get very disappointed, but my wonderful boyfriend William said, that it takes practice, everyone's first time is not going to be perfect. And he is right. So I felt a little better, but still beating myself up about it lol. Now this was last night, after I failed at that, I had to soak my nail and to remove it, which took some time, as it was clumped on *see photo* lol. So while I did that I watched the video that came with the nail trainer, and watched about 45 minutes of that. Learned a lot of things in that short amount of time.

The photo didn't come out that great, I had shadows, and all but you get the idea. So today I am going to search YouTube for the reason why the nail didn't stick to the fake finger, this is what a fake finger looks like, it's pretty much plastic.

So as you can see, it would be easier to work on those, than it would on my own, just for the sake of time, because as it happened last night, it didn't work out right on my own finger, I had to take about 30 minutes just to remove the one finger, so yeah that kind of bummed me out. So now I need to find out why the nail isn't staying glued to the fake finger. Once I get that down, I can continue my practice, not point in trying to glue it again, when the first time it failed :( So as I progress, I'll post about it :)

Now We're Talking Weather!

OH EM GEE, the heat is really on now. It's cooking out there lol. Thank goodness we went out early today, to do some shopping. I had a few things I was looking for, and I did manage to find them, although some I didn't or I forgot one or two other things. I try to keep a list of what I am looking for, makes it so much easier than running around the store, and back tracking to find stuff. That is what causes exhaustion, at least it does for my lazy bum hehe. So today I wanted to go and find some stuff called Diamond Dust, it's stuff some people use when doing nails, basically for decoration, and yay I was able to find it at Michael's plus I had a 40% off coupon, so I used it on that, and got it $3.60 off! I was so super happy.

That's it there, among a few other things I picked up. I'm pretty content with what I got, plus I got some packages in the mail today as well, that made me happy! Things I have long been waiting for, but it finally arrives. I think it's a great idea to buy nail related items from ebay, when I first started going on YouTube to search about nail related stuff, I found a lot of people buy from ebay as well. Which was really great to see. I'm really excited to get started with practicing!

So I have been looking for a nice fat mug, with a big handle, and I have had the hardest time finding it. So today when we were at Michael's Craft store, I seen one, but it wasn't pink, and I pointed out to William, 'Look, that's the size mug I wanted, but it's not pink'. So he suggested I decorate it the way I want it, and I replied, 'But I don't want to decorate it, I just wanted it to be pink', so he says, get it, and paint it yourself. So I did, and I got some paint, a really nice color too, but I'm not sure if I got enough now. Thinking about it, I probably didn't so I will probably experiment, LMAO, I wonder how that is going to come out!

Michaels Mini Haul

That's a big coffee mug isn't it. I just LOVE it!!! I don't think that 2oz bottle of gloss acrylic paint is going to be enough. I may just use all the 3 colors there, or look in my stash and see what I have, because I want a really nice pretty pink, that color in the photo is Raspberry but I just love the color! We'll see what happens, when I get around to doing it, I will post a finished photo!

Ok well I should close here, let me remind everyone, that the Blogaholic Anniversary $400 Cash Giveaway is still going on, hurry on over, click the link and get in on it, this could be your lucky day. Have a blessed day!
